Opera in the Valley of the Giants will be operating under the mandated 2 square metre rule.

This means:

  • There will be a strict limit on the number of audience members allowed. Everyone must have a ticket
  • Tickets will be limited
  • Seating will be comfortable, however you may be seated near patrons from outside your group.  

West Australian Opera and Valley of the Giants have COVID-19 Safety Policies in place to maintain your safety. These efforts include:

  • The completion of a COVID safety plan
  • Hand sanitiser stations readily available 
  • Performance area will be cleaned before and after use.

Please do not attend a live performance if you are unwell.

The Tree Top Walk will be open until 6.30pm and entry fees are applicable

WHERE IS IT THE VALLEY OF THE GIANTS?
The Valley of the Giants is situated in the south west of Western Australia on the Valley of the Giants Road off the South Coast Highway, Nornalup. Nornalup is located between Denmark and Walpole.

HOW DO I BUY A TICKET?
The concert is a paid ticketed event and you will need to pre-purchase your ticket at

  • You are required to present your e-ticket on entry to the gate.
  • Your e-ticket barcode will be scanned.
  • Please ensure this barcode is visible on your device (please note reception is not consistent, so screenshot each ticket ahead of time).

ABOUT TICKETS:
How do I receive my tickets?
Tickets for this event are e-tickets only. They will be delivered to you via your registered email address once you have completed your booking.  If you did not you receive your e-tickets, please contact bookings@waopera.asn.au

Do I need to print my tickets?  
No. You are encouraged not to print your ticket/s.
You are only required to present your e-ticket on entry at the gate.

Can I print my tickets if I prefer?
Should you wish to print your tickets, please ensure the printout contains the barcode.
The barcode should not be cut off between pages as this will not be able to be scanned.

If your barcode is not printing, please check your print settings have “background image” ticket. If you still require more support, please contact bookings@waopera.asn.au

I never received a confirmation email or e-tickets?
Please check your junk mail in case the email was delivered to junk.
If it is not there, please contact bookings@waopera.asn.au and we will re-send your e-tickets to your inbox.

Why do I have to provide names for all ticket holders?
As part of West Australian Opera’s COVID Safety Plan, we are collecting the name and contact details for every person attending a WAO performance. Valid details of all persons in a party need to be collected. This additional data will be stored securely in our customer database and will only be shared with Health Authorities if COVID-19 contact tracing is required. WHO WILL BE SINGING?
Emma Matthews, Caitlin Cassidy, Paul O’Neill, and James Clayton will be accompanied by Tommaso Pollio.

HOW LONG IS THE CONCERT AND WILL THERE BE AN INTERVAL?
There will be two 45-minute halves and on 30-minute interval

WHAT IS ON THE PROGRAM?
The repertoire list will be available on West Australian Opera’s website closer to the performance.
In keeping with the no waste policy within the Valley of the Giants there will be no paper copies of the program available.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS OR IS WINDY?
We will try our best to preserve in rain or wind however if the situation is dangerous or uncomfortable for patrons and performers the concert may be cancelled (and cannot be rescheduled)

If we are able to continue with the performance. Please note that the quality of the sound may be affected.

CAN I BRING A PICNIC?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a picnic and drinks. We recommend a lap picnic as you will be seated in chairs. Picnic baskets and drink coolers will need to go underneath your chair for the performance.

CAN I BUY FOOD ONSITE?
There is no food sold onsite however you are welcome to purchase hot drinks from the onsite coffee van.

DO I NEED TO BRING A CHAIR?
No, please do not bring your own chairs.
Seating provided and is unreserved.
You are welcome to bring rugs and cushions.

DRESS CODE
There is no dress code but you may like to bring a jacket or jumper or blanket in the event of cool weather.
Casual, comfortable clothing and footwear (i.e. closed shoes, flats or boots) recommended.
Please bring a raincoat is rain is forecast.

ACCESSIBILITY
The performance location requires you to walk from the car park to the performance site. Some of this may be on uneven terrain. Please contact education@waopera.asn.au if you require information regarding ability access.

PARKING
Limited parking is available onsite.
Parking onsite will be managed by a traffic management team.

COVID-19 INFORMATION

If you have travelled overseas in the past 14 days, have a temperature equal to or higher than 37.5 or are displaying cold and flu symptoms, we ask that you do not attend this performance.
